MAREK’S STORY
Over twenty years in service of Estonian fields.
Marek Ruiso started in agriculture as a practitioner — he has grown cereals, rapeseed and potatoes himself and knows what it means to make decisions in the field under pressure, in bad weather and with limited resources.
This practical experience is the strength of his consulting work. He doesn’t advise from a book — he talks about fields with similar soil types that have faced similar challenges and for which there are solutions that actually work.
Marek is a certified consultant of the Rural Knowledge Centre (METK), which gives clients the opportunity to use the PRIA consulting subsidy — the state covers part of the consulting cost. This makes professional consulting accessible to smaller enterprises as well.

What does the METK consultant certificate mean?
The Rural Knowledge Centre (METK) is Estonia’s agricultural science and training body that certifies consultants based on strict professional requirements. The METK certificate is a guarantee that the consultant has completed thorough training and knows what they are talking about.
